Our Programs
RAP Facility
RAP serves males and females aged 13 to 18 who reside in counties all over Florida and have a primary diagnosis of substance abuse and/or dependence. Adolescents served by RAP have varying degrees of substance abuse or dependency issues, ranging from progressive chronic addiction to those who have entered an experimental stage of substance abuse but whose drug use can be therapeutically addressed prior to severe adverse consequences. Co-existing problems (i.e., mental health, truancy, and generational familial struggles) are common within the population and are therefore addressed in the treatment and continuing care planning process.New Start supports these youth through their entire stay in the program. Our goal is to provide hope and reinforce positive growth. No matter what has happened in the past or what choices have been made, we want these youth to know their lives have value, meaning, and purpose.
Beach House Facility
The mission of Beach House is to help prevent juvenile delinquency and involvement in the dependency system by enhancing the quality of life for troubled youth, facilitating their self reliance and strengthening their concern and caring for others, helping them to resolve and cope with personal and family conflict and providing temporary shelter. New Start is a partner in the mentorship of youth in this facility. Our goal is to provide short term hope for the temporary fear in their lives.
Hope Place
Hope Place provides a fresh start and a secure haven for homeless unaccompanied youth aged 18-24, enabling them to pursue education without the worry of housing expenses. Housed within the renovated Hurst Elementary School, the dormitories accommodate up to 32 individuals. Here, residents are encouraged to focus on their education, employment, and savings goals in a supportive environment free from the burden of rent.
At Hope Place, our mission is to empower homeless youth by offering not just shelter but a nurturing community where they can thrive academically and personally. By providing a safe and stable living environment, we aim to equip these young adults with the resources they need to build a brighter future, breaking free from the cycle of homelessness. New Starts goal is to encourage the young adults to make positive choices that support growth in their lives with no judgement but unconditional love. To provide support in continued education, employment, healthy relationships and responsibility.
Prayer Ministry
The Prayer Program at New Start offers a weekly opportunity for all youth to share their prayer requests using prayer request cards. Each youth gets individual time with their prayer warrior on a weekly basis to discuss their prayers within their respective groups. What distinguishes this program is the personalized approach, with each youth being prayed for by name. Even if a youth does not have a specific prayer request, their well-being is encompassed in daily and weekly prayers.
Weekly team meetings are held with each group to discuss these requests. Through unwavering dedication to prayer partnerships, the prayers of every New Start youth are lifted up both daily and weekly. Additionally, prayer requests are circulated via email to those committed to continuous prayer for the youth of New Start.
